I Dark Lunacy sono una band di Parma che suona un "Death Metal Gotico/Sinfonico" con atmosfere cariche di pathos. Il loro genere è il risultato di differenti concezioni musicali, orientate verso atmosfere drammatiche, sempre delineate da ritmiche serrate e aperture melodiche, per dare un'identità ben definita al contenuto delle musiche e dei testi, stando sempre attenti a miscelare nel modo giusto rabbia e poesia. La caratteristica dei DL è quella di avvalersi del supporto musicale di un quartetto di archi formato da musicisti di notevole spessore, e da una corale mista a tre voci di 20 elementi. Nati nel 1997, per decisione di Mike (voce) ed Enomys (chitarre) nel corso di questi anni la band si è progressivamente modificata, valorizzando progetti da tempo lasciati in disparte e sviluppandosi ben oltre le aspettative iniziali. Dopo aver inciso un mini-Cd autoprodotto dal titolo "Silent Storm" (1998) ed ottenuto un notevole consenso da parte del pubblico, con l'arrivo in pianta stabile di Baijkal (batteria) e Harpad (basso), questo progetto ha assunto una identità finale di vera e propria band. Nella primavera del 1999, i DL portano a termine un nuovo lavoro intitolato "Serenity", composto da 4 brani, il già citato quartetto d'archi segna quello che sarà il sound della band. Nel 2000 la band firma un contratto con la SELF di lì a breve in collaborazione con la FUEL RECORDS esce il primo Cd ufficiale intitolato "Devoid". Con il supporto della SPIN-GO, i DL appaiono, nei due mesi subito successivi alla pubblicazione di "Devoid"su tutte le riviste specializzate nazionali e non, con interviste ed ottime recensioni. Grazie ai due singoli "Dolls" e "Forlorn", i DL entrano nella playlist di molte radio e locali specializzati nella programmazione di musica Hard’N’Heavy. A Febbraio 2001, arriva il contratto con la METALBLADE, che si occuperà della ristampa di "Devoid" e della distribuzione in tutta Europa. A Marzo "Devoid" viene firmato uncontratto di licenza per: Giappone, Cina, Messico e sud-est dell'Asia. Il 23 Marzo 2001 inizia il primo tour italiano che finirà il 12 Maggio al Rolling Stone di Milano. Grazie alle vendite di "Devoid", la SELF ha prodotto il primo video-clip della band, che successivamente apparirà su MTV e su altre emittenti specializzate. Nel 2002 lo split cd "Twice" realizzato con i compagni di etichetta Infernal Poetry. “Twice” contiene "Defaced"e "Die to reborn" più il video clip di “Dolls”. Giugno 2003 vede l'uscita del nuovo full lenght "Forget-Me-Not", 11 nuove tracce di Dramatic Death Metal che segna definitivamente il sound dei Dark Lunacy. Alla presentazione del cd, tenuta al Transilvania Live di Milano il 19 Giugno 2003, segue uno speciale del concerto più interviste trasmesso da ROCK TV. A tre anni di distanza (2006) viene alla luce “The Diarist” album che consacra la band, infatti la risposta sia da parte dei fans che degli addetti ai lavori sarà ottima. Di conseguenza al tanto acclamato nuovo album i DL saranno impegnati nel tour promozionale che porterà la band stessa in giro per il mondo, da: RUSSIA a TUNISIA, fino ad arrivare al caldo MESSICO, mentre nel nostro paese i nostri saranno protagonisti nei festival più importanti quali: GODS OF METAL, EVOLUTION e AGGLUTINATION FEST.

Dark Lunacy are a Gothic- Symphonic -Death metal from Parma(Italy). Their style is stems from different musical genres, all oriented towards dramatic atmospheres charaterized by tight rythmics and melodic openings. Their music is a blend of rage and poetry, with a well defined identity either in music and lyrics.The main charateristic of Dark Lunacy is to avail of a 4 elemnts string ensemble and of a three voices - twenty elements choir. Dark Lunacy were formed in 1997 by Mike(vocals) and Enomys(guitars) and during the years the band has kept evolving, going beyond the initial premises. After recording a mini-cd (Silent Storm 1997)that received unanimous consent, Baijkal(drims) and Harpad(bass) joined the band giving to Dark Lunacy a final and unique identity. During spring 1999 the band terminate "Serenity". This 4-songs work achieve the realization of the band true sound. In 2000 Dark lunacy signed with SELF and thereafter DEVOID see the light in cohoperation with FUEL records, being the first official record of the band. Supported by SPIN-GO the band got the chance to appear on almost every national music magazines receiving great reviews, and giving interviews. Their singles "Dolls" and "Forlorn" get airplaying on several local radios. In February 2001 Dark Lunacy signed with METALBLADE that reprinted "Devoid" and distribuited it in all Europe. In March 2001 Devoid achieved licenses for distribution in China, Japan, Mexico and south-west of Asia. On the 23th march of the same year the band started their first official Italian tour playing the last show the 12 may at the famous club "Rolling Stone" in Milan. After the succesful tour SELF produced the first videoclip of the band. In 2002 Dark Lunacy recorded a split-cd "Twice" with Infernal Poetry. Twice contained "Defaced" and "Die to reborn" plus the clip of "Dolls". On june 2003 the band published the new full length cd "Forget-me-not", 11 new tracks of dramatic-melodic-death metal that created a new step in the evolution
of the band sound. The album was presented at "Transilvania live" in Milan and a show followed getting airplaying on Rock TV. Three years after "The diarist" consecrates the band receiving great reviews from the mags and from the fans. A promotianl tour started bringing the band around the globe from Russia to Mexico, and giving them the chance to join the most important italian festivals like "GODS OF METAL", "EVOLUTION" and "AGGLUTINATION FESTIVAL".
