Biography

Gli Illogicist furono fondati nell'estate del 1997 come progetto del chitarrista Luca Minieri e del batterista Remy Curtaz. In breve tempo si aggiunsero al gruppo il bassista Roberto Zeppa e il chitarrista Fabio Filippone, con i quali fu pubblicato nel 2002 il primo demo dal titolo “Polymorphism of Death”. Dopo questa uscita Roberto Zeppa e Fabio Filippone lasciarono il gruppo venendo sostituiti da Diego Ambrosi alla chitarra e Emilio Dattolo al basso. Nel 2003 questa formazione rilasciò un nuovo demo intitolato “Dissonant Perspective”. Dopo un lungo tour promozionale nella scena underground italiana gli Illogicist pubblicarono con l'etichetta americana Crash Music “Inc Subjected”, primo album della band, pubblicato nel luglio 2004. Entrato in gruppo un nuovo batterista, Sergio Ponti, la band partì per un tour in Italia e in Europa. Terminata la tournèe, gli Illogicist registrarono, con il nuovo e talentuoso batterista austriaco Marco Minnemann, prima una demo dal titolo “Promo 2006” e successivamente il loro secondo album, “The Insight Eye”, rilasciato nel 2007 con la major Candlelight Records (Obituary, Emperor, Crowbar). A seguito dell’ultima release la band è partita per un tour prima in Italia e poi in Europa, partecipando anche all’edizione 2008 dell’Evolution Fest, mentre nell’agosto dello stesso anno gli Illogicist sono stati protagonisti negli Stati Uniti, dove la band ha partecipato ad un tour di 30 date, con un’ottima risposta da parte del pubblico.

Illogicist started during summer of 1997 as a project of guitarist Luca Minieri and drummer Remy Curtaz.After a short time the bassist Roberto Zeppa and the guitarist Fabio Filippone joined the band. With this line-up Illogicist published in 2002 their first demo entitled "Polymorphis of death". After the release Robert Zeppa and Fabio Filippone left the band and were replaced by Diego Ambrosi(guitar) and Emio Dattolo(bass). After a while Illogicist released the new demo "Dissonant perspective". After a long tour around Italy, Illogicist in 2004 signed with the american label "Crash Music" and published their first album "Inc Subjected". A new drummer Sergio Ponti joined the band and Illogicist started a long tour around Europe. Once back in Italy the band recorded a new demo "Promo 2006" with the talented austriac drummer Marco Minnemanm and eventually signed with the major Candlelight Records(Obituary, Emperor, Crowbar)releasing their second album "The insight Eye". The band began a new tour also partecipating at the 2008 edition of Evolution festival. During august of the same year Illogiscist made a 30 shows tour in USA receving great support from the crowd.
