Gli INFERNAL POETRY nascono ad Ancona nel '96 col nome di Necronomicon. Nello stesso anno registrano il primo demo tape "Under The Gothic Cathedral" che, proponendo un Thrash/Death con elementi melodici ottiene ottime recensioni su riviste e fanzine specializzate. Ma il primo balzo in avanti è fatto nel '97, con la registrazione del secondo demo, più orientato verso il death melodico, intitolato "In The Sign Of The Evil Creature" che vende oltre 500 copie, molte delle quali all'estero. Nel '98 la band, risolti i problemi registra un promo di 2 pezzi, "Promo '98", che viene acclamato da molte riviste (Top Demo su Metal Shock). Ma il vero e definitivo passo verso la maturazione si ha nel '99, quando tramite un cambio di 3/5 della line-up il gruppo arriva ad un assetto veramente professionale anche dal punto di vista delle esibizioni live, apprezzatissime ovunque. Nel novembre 2000 la band prende parte a un tour europeo di supporto ai ROTTING CHRIST (Gre) e Impiety in: Francia, Spagna, Svizzera, Germania, Olanda, Belgio segnalandosi come una band dalla grande attitudine live. Finalmente a gennaio 2002 esce il disco d'esordio per Fuel Records/Self... "Not Light But Rather Visible Darkness", è il nome dell’acclamato e tanto atteso album, il brano "From Mortal Body To Eternal Soul" presente all’interno del full lenght stesso vince un contest internazionale di mp3, indetto da Agonia Magazine. Sempre nel 2002 viene registrato il videoclip della song "Hell Spawn". L'incessante attività live per tutta Europa consacra la band a "killer live act", facendo emergere la stessa prepotentemente dall'underground italico. Nel 2003 in compagnia di un’altra band italiana DARK LUNACY esce lo split “Twice”, sempre in collaborazione con FUEL RECORDS/SELF. Partendo da una matrice death, il sound nel corso degli anni si è evoluto approdando a sonorità disturbanti, grottesche e schizzate: i media battezzano la band con il nome di "Schizo death metal". Anno 2005 il secondo album “Beholding the Unpure”. Il nuovo lavoro si discosta dalle precedenti prove della band, allontanandosi da certi retaggi del Death melodico europeo e andando a comporre, attraverso l'impiego di suoni e soluzioni non allineate al genere, una personale rilettura della materia estrema. Ad aprile 2005 viene girato il secondo videoclip della band: la canzone scelta è "Crawl". Nel 2006 la band ha preso parte al tour europeo con i DISMEMBER (Swe) suonando per 15 date in Italia, Svizzera,Olanda,Germania. Nello stesso anno da segnalare un’esplosiva performance al GODS OF METAL . Ad inizio 2007 INFERNAL POETRY si accasano con la belga RED SKIES SOCIETY e di seguito esce il mini cd “NERVOUS SYSTEM CHECKING”, quattro brani che anticiperanno l’uscita del disco vero e proprio intitolato “NERVOUS SYSTEM FAILURE” uscita programmata a metà 2009, disco tra quelli più attesi dell’anno stesso. Da ricordare infine l’apparizione al GODS OF METAL 2008, dove INFERNAL POETRY ha diviso il palco con veri mostri sacri del genere, quali: JUDAS PRIEST, MALMSTEEN, OBITUARY, MORBID ANGEL, ICED EARTH.

Infernal Poetry formed in Ancona in 1996 under the name of Necronomicon. The same year the band recorded their first demo entitled "Under the gothic cathedral" playing a thrash/death metal with some melodic elements. The release obtained good reviews by the press. The second demo "In the sign of the evil creature" (1997)was more oriented towards melodic solutions yet remaing in the death metal genre. The demo sold over 500 copies and was well received abroad. In 1998 the band recorded a new demo "Promo 1998" that was nominated "Top demo" on the important mag Metal Shock. In 1999 there was the importany leap in the band professional career and 3/5 of the band were replaced.This change gave to Infernal Poetry an importan professional dimension and the band started touring with important acts like Rotting Christ and Impiety playing several shows around Europe (France, Spain, Switzerland,Germany, Holland, Belgium) and building a great "live" reputation. In January 2002 the band recorded the first full length album for Fuel Records/Self. The title is "Not light but rather visible darkness" and the work is acclaimed unanimously by press and fans. The song "From mortal body to eternal soul" won an international context held by Agony Magazine.In 2002 the band released their first video clip from the song Hellspawn. The continous live activity of the band gave them great reputation as a "live killer band" and helped Infernal Poetry to emerge from the italian musical underground. In 2003 the band recorded a split cd called twice together with Dark Lunacy for the label FUEL/SELF RECORDS. During the years the sound of the band has evolved towards more disturbing and hallucinated sonorities with the media immediately christening the sound as "schizo-death metal". In 2005 the band released their second album "Beholding the unpure". The record diverged from previous solutions drifting from standard melodic-death solutions and elaborating sounds and arrangements. This finally lead the band to create a personal reading of death metal genre. In the same year the band filmed the second video clip from the song "Crawl". During 2006 Infernal Poetry toured with Dismember around Europe playng fifteen shows and touching Italy,Switzerland, Holland and Germany and partecipated also to GOD OF METAL show(with acts like Morbid Angel, Judas Priest, Y.Malmsteen, Obituary, Iced Earth). At the beginning of 2007 the band signed with the belgian Red Sky society label and released the mini-cd "NERVOUS SYSTEM CHECKING" that anticipates the full length "NERVOUS SYSTEM FAILURE" due in 2009.
